Diatribe: Great Shows – Guest Post

I never knew there were so many great shows on my extended channels. I recently signed up for some Direct TV Deals in my area and I can’t get enough of all these ridiculous TV shows that seem to be plaguing the airways. For example, have you seen that show called Love and Hip-Hop? The people on the show are absolutely ridiculous and I don’t understand why anyone would spend more than 30 min. watching this trash before they turn it off. There is also a lot of the same stuff on MTV but you know, I guess that’s what I should expect from networks aimed at pleasing people 20 years my junior. The stuff I actually really like is usually crime related and along the same lines as the CSI and Criminal Minds. I think I must have missed my calling as a detective or a police officer or something but watching the shows let me exercise that side of my brain without actually having to change professions. I guess I just like feeling challenged.
I agree.. if I see one more “new reality show” I am gonna flip the flip out.. Cooking shows, pawn shop shows, tattoo shows… but the ones that irritate me the most are the child beauty pageant shows, the child dance shows. Then we have the house shows, and the washed up stars shows like Gene Simmons Family Jewels and Tatum & Ryan O’Neil.
I guess a lot of American’s are digging this crap, else i wouldn’t be on..
So I watch true crime, documentaries and The Walking Dead.

They will mine anything for a reality show these days. I heard that a thrift shopping show is in the works. What the what? REALLY. Sound like absolutely riveting must-see TV. /extremesarcasm
