Diatribe: The Ridiculous Notion That Your Ex-Husband Has Cast A Spell On You.

Oz-The-Great-and-Powerful-posterLast Saturday, I went to see Oz the Great and Powerful in IMAX 3D.  It was fantastic.  The special effects, in particular, were wonderful to see in three dimensions but I found the witches to be particularly interesting.  I’d never really questioned the “back stories” of the characters from the 1939 move, The Wizard of Oz, so it was interesting to learn more about their history.  The witches in the movie (Mila Kunis as Theodora, Rachel Weisz as Evanora and Michelle Williams as Glinda) fought and argued, as expected, casting one spell after another for our amusement.

OnceUponATimeThe following night I watched Once Upon A Time on television were even more witches cast equally darker spells.  It was truly a weekend for witchcraft.

I imagine that Mychia Vang might not find all these witches quite so amusing.

The Winder, Georgia woman and her mother recently went to a local sheriff’s office to report that her ex-husband had cast a spell on her and her home.  They lodged a complaint with the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office charging that her former spouse, Bruce Lor, did this with the assistance of HIS mother.

winder_gaVang told authorities that she believes Lor, 28, and his mother had placed her “under a spell or spells” that allowed him to know exactly what she was doing and where she was going.  Additionally, Vang alleged that Lor’s purported spell cased her recent health issues.  Apparently the couple, divorced for the past year, have been embroiled in a heated child custody battle in which the authorities have become involved more than once.

Since there was, clearly, nothing the Sheriff’s Office could do to investigate the charges, Vang was advised that a report would be written documenting the incident.

Perhaps Bruce Lor is an illusionist along the lines of Oz’s great Wizard and that Ms. Vang is seeing exactly what he wants her to see.  I imagine that, in the not too distant future, Ms. Vang will get an interesting lesson in Global Positioning Systems, how to acquire one and how they works.  I bet she finds evidence of a GPS in her car, too.

Has an ex-spouse ever placed YOU “under a spell or spells”?  Was their mother involved?!

  1. Wow.
That’s all I got for this one.

  2. Pretty odd. But then there were people like Jim Jones and David Koresch. So you never know what people will do, follow or believe.

  3. sweet permalink

this is funny. its everywhere. its shame and embarrassment on Ms. Vang and her family.

  4. Is Ms. Vang planning on suing? Either that or she is trying to prove her husband’s unfit for custody. What people won’t do.
