Ovation: April Fools Pranks.

04/01/2013

April1I do NOT have a “poker face”.  I’ve never been able to play a prank on anyone … ever.  I’ve tried but I always seem to give a hint of some kind to my target/victim.  I have, however, been successfully pranked on more than one occasion.

“April Fools’ Day is celebrated in many countries on April 1 every year. Sometimes referred to as All Fools’ Day, April 1 is not a national holiday, but is widely recognized and celebrated as a day when people play practical jokes and hoaxes on each other.” – Wikipedia

My family, after watching a particularly amusing episode of America’s Funniest Home Videos, decided to put a rubber band around the spray nozzle beside the faucet at the kitchen sink.  They waited patiently for me to approach the handle and spray myself with the booby-trapped sprayer.  They thought it was the funniest thing ever … particularly after we had just seen the prank successfully completed over and over on television moments before.

Here are some interesting April Fools Prank ideas.

What’s the best prank that you’ve ever pulled?

  1. I worked in a restaurant where there was counter service and customers took their trays outside to picnic tables to eat. We once put up a sign on the electric exit door after turning it off that said

    “Door temperamental, step down HARD.”

Then we watched people jump up and down with their trays trying to get the damn door to open. We spent lots of time laughing and moping.

  2. I loved the video! John E got me this morning by posting about this wonderful new job he got with Ford & it turned out it was an April Fool’s joke. I didn’t even remember it was April 1, so he really had me going.
